Here are few examples of the Qur'anic verses that were borrowed entirely from Syriac. For more on the Syriac language of the Qur'an, please refer to my book. The Qur'an: Misinterpreted, Minstranslated, and Misread. The Aramaic Language of the Qur'an.

Bismi lahi lrahamaani lrahim, Q. 1: 1, transltated 'in the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful'. In Syriac: "bishe lalaha rahmana rhima" (Eastern Syriac dialect).

Alhamdu lillah rabb al'alamin, Q. 2: 2. Translated 'all praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the words'. In Syriac: "hmada lalaha raba almin". The vowel signs in the Qur'anic verse developed later in the Islamic history. When the vowels are taken out, the Syriac dialect is preserved.

Alrahmani lrahim, Q. 1: 3. Translated 'the Gracious, the Merciful". in Eastern Syriac dialect: "rahmana rhima". The initial /al/ is a late development. when removed from the modern Qur'anic verse, the Eastern Syriac dialect is preserved.

Maliki yawmi ldin, Q. 1: 4. Translated: 'Master of the Day of Judgment'. Eastern Syriac: "malka yawma ldina"

Inna qatalna almaseeheesa ibn maryam, Q. 4: 158, trans. we killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary. Syr. hnan qtalnan yeshou.msheeho bar Maryam.

Sher Ali). The verse is read in Syriac as following: wktabnan layhen bha, en nafsha bnafsha wayna bayna wanfa banf wedna bedna wshena bshena.

Wama umiru illa liyabudu ilaahan wahidan, 9: 31. trans. yet they were commanded to worship but One God (A. Yusuf Ali). Syriac wma omar lhun, lobdin had Alaha, meaning: and what they were told, was to worship one God.

Fakafa billahi shahidan baynana wa baynakum, Q. 10: 30. In Syr. makfeh b aloho (alaha) sohdo (sahda)banyan w baynotkun.trans. Allah is now sufficient as a Witness between us and you.
